Focus on the user experience

As you build your site, keep your visitors in mind. A good user experience comes down to four things:

1. Look and feel — consistent design and branding.
2. Ease of use — clear navigation that works on every browser and screen size.
3. Functionality — forms that submit and get timely responses.
4. Content — well-structured, relevant, and up to date.

Zealder gives you a strong starting point with very little effort. The tools offer a lot of customization, but you rarely need all of them. Experiment, then remove anything that does not serve your visitors or your business goals — with a website, less is often more. Preview your site after each change to see how it looks.

A simple test: ask a friend to browse your site and watch what they do.

• What is the first link they click?
• How quickly do they find a specific piece of information?
