Control Your Web Presence!

Setting up an Zealder website is a very exciting and rewarding experience. This manual will help you understand all of the tools that we provide, with detail explanations on how to use them. This manual covers all of the features within our system, including those that may or may not be available in your selected plan and/or region.

The User Experience

While setting up your website, all of your efforts should be focused on the end-user (your website visitors). This concept is referred to as the "User Experience". There are many books and online resources written on user experience and we cannot cover this entire concept in this manual. However, the user experience is primarily made up of four factors:

  1. Look and Feel (uniform design and branding)
  2. Ease of use (easy navigation and compatible with all browsers/screen sizes)
  3. Functionality (form submissions and timely responses)
  4. Content (structured accordingly, appropriate to user's needs, and up-to-date)

One of the biggest advantages with using our system is that, by default, the user experience requires very little effort on your part. To maintain a rich user experience, you should preview your website after every change that you make. Although our system offers a lot of powerful customization options, not all of these options are required to accomplish the best user experience. As a matter of fact, using all of the features that we provide may be redundant and/or cause confusion for your visitors. We suggest that you take the time to experiment with all of the features that we offer, but after doing so, it's important that you revise your website and remove anything that is not appropriate to your user's needs and your business goals. Remember, the less is more concept also applies to your website.

One of the best ways that you can test the User Experience of your website is to ask a friend to take a look at your website, and as they do so, watch and listen to any comments that they make.

  • What is the first thing that they notice?
  • What is the first link that they click on?
  • How long did it take them to find a specific information on your website?

Answering these questions will help you get started on creating a great user experience!
