ICANN Whois Validation Process

According to the new regulations introduced by Internet Corporation of Assigned Names & Numbers (ICANN) we are required to send Whois validation emails. Whois validation will only be needed for the Registrant contact information in the following cases:

  • A new domain is registered with unverified contact information.
  • A domain registrant updates their shopper email address or phone number with unverified information.
  • We are notified or have reason to believe that a shopper’s contact info is invalid.

When a new domain is registered, we will immediately send an email to the Registrant email address specified for the domain. The verification email will be also sent if an edit is made to either of the following Registrant contact fields:

  • Registrant First Name
  • Registrant Last name
  • Registrant Email Address

If the Registrant email is changed, the email will be sent to the new email address specified.

After verifying your contact information, our system will update your domain name from a Pending WhoIs status to a Verified status within 24 hours.

If you do not receive a verification email, you should:

  • Check your email spam and junk folders.
  • Make sure our email service@zealder.com isn't on your blocked sender list.
  • Contact us if you entered an incorrect registrant or shopper email address.
