ICANN WHOIS Validation Process

Under ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) rules, we are required to verify the registrant contact details on domain registrations. WHOIS validation is needed in cases such as:

  • A new domain is registered with contact information that has not yet been verified.
  • The registrant updates their email address or phone number with new, unverified information.
  • We have reason to believe a registrant’s contact information is invalid.

When a new domain is registered, or when the registrant first name, last name, or email address is changed, we send a verification email to the registrant address. After you verify your information, your domain status updates from pending to verified, usually within 24 hours.

If you do not receive the verification email:

  • Check your spam and junk folders.
  • Make sure service@zealder.com is not on your blocked-senders list.
  • Contact us if you may have entered an incorrect registrant email address.
